Clip Clop and her Standing CT

Brown horse on a leash

Clip Clop recently presented to us for a lameness investigation.

After localising the lameness, our clinicians decided that a CT scan of the hocks was most appropriate diagnostic tool.

Video 1: A time-lapsed video of Clip Clop undergoing her CT scan.

The standing CT images can be obtained very rapidly and provide detailed three dimensional information on the bone and soft tissue from the hock or carpus down to the feet.

Video 2: The standing CT images of Clip Clop's forelimbs.

You will notice in the video that Clip Clop is standing on blocks with her front feet. This is to lift her abdomen up to allow the system to be elevated enough to examine the hocks.

The standing CT system was installed at U-Vet Equine Centre in 2019 and we now use it almost daily.

If you require an appointment for your horse or if you have any questions about the services we offer, please call our reception and we will be able to assist you in on 03 9731 2268.
