Dr Courtney Dunne
BAppSc, BVSc (Hons), MANZCVS (Avian Health)
Dr Courtney Dunne commenced work at U-Vet in 2015 in the General Practice and is our Avian Vet. She has a membership level qualification with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Avian Health. Whilst her passion resides in caring for patients of the feathered variety, she has a strong interest in pocket pet medicine. After graduating from her veterinary studies, she worked in mixed practice and dedicated her weekly day off from full-time work to a second role at an Avian only clinic in Melbourne. Courtney participates annually in student teaching, both during student clinical rotations through the General Practice and in pre-clinical training in aspects associated with bird handling and procedures. When and where possible, she will give bird related talks to other veterinary clinics or wildlife rescue organisations. Outside her role as a vet, Courtney, enjoys spending time at home with 6 parrots and 2 dogs – many of which were acquired through veterinary endeavours. On her days away from work, she enjoys being able to take short road trips to explore all that Victoria has to offer.
