Dr Liam Donaldson
BVSc (Hons)

Resident in Emergency and Critical Care

Liam commenced his undergraduate degree in veterinary science at James Cook University in Townsville in 2009 and graduated in 2013 as Class Dux / Valedictorian. Following graduation, he was accepted into a rotating internship program at Queensland Veterinary Specialists (QVS) in Brisbane, and continued on as an emergency clinician at QVS throughout 2015. Come 2016, he was offered the opportunity to commence a residency program (through the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) at the University of Melbourne. In addition to the residency, he is currently enrolled in a dual masters program and is in the midst of writing his thesis. He plans on sitting his ACVECC diplomate board exams in September of 2019. His professional/research interests are the endothelium and the endothelial glycocalyx and gastroenterology.

Outside of veterinary emergency and critical care Liam says nothing beats the beach, other than the drive to the beach with a dog by your side. He loves to stay healthy by going to the gym, as well as the Melbourne nightlife.
