Dr Lorna O’Dowd
MVB (Hons), MANZCVS (ECC)
Lorna graduated from the University of Dublin in 2004. After graduation Lorna spent many years working in mixed practice in Ireland. On graduation she was awarded a travel and research bursary which she used to fund a trip to Africa working with a local charity treating and neutering feral animals. This unearthed a love of travel and for the next couple of years Lorna worked her way around the globe working in charities in India, Indonesia and Peru. Her love of travel took Lorna to Australia in 2010 for a planned 1 year adventure. Many years later she has found herself still here and realising Aussie life is too good to give up! Lorna gained her MANSCVS in ECC in 2013 and has since taken an active role as examiner in ECC with the ANZCVS. Lorna loves all aspects of emergency medicine and loves working in an environment where teaching and learning are at the forefront. When not working, Lorna can be found planning her next adventure in a bid to see as much of the planet as possible!
