Dr Melanie Rockman
BVSc MANZCVS (Veterinary Animal Behaviour)
Melanie has been a veterinarian for 20 years and have always enjoyed the broad scope of general practice, working with a myriad of different types of cases, pets and clients! Her particular interest over the past decade has been animal behaviour and the management of conditions that can be explained and treated via an understanding of this fascinating field. From working as a new graduate in rural Victoria in a mixed animal practice through to a few years of work in a large animal welfare organisation/veterinary hospital to follow with working overseas in the UK in private practice and at the U-Vet over the past 15 years, she has been fortunate to appreciate many rewarding and interesting aspects of being a veterinarian. Having the opportunity to be involved in the teaching and education of our future veterinarians has been a deeply rewarding part of working at the U-Vet as a veterinarian. Creating further educational opportunities for our students in veterinary behaviour will be the future focus in years to come, as will the management of our GP and behaviour patients. Her hobbies involve enjoying the great outdoors (on land or in the sea), especially where we live on the surf coast of Victoria.
