Dr Sooze Beths

Susan Beths (Sooze) is a general practice veterinarian working at U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital with a special interest in exotic animals. She is currently working towards the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoo Animals. After graduating from Dundee University in Scotland with an honours degree in Psychology then from Glasgow University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Sooze started her Veterinary career working in mixed practice in the UK and then moved to the Caribbean working in emergency and general practice treating a wide range of animals including monkeys, sea turtles and sea lions, along with the usual dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and rabbits etc. Whilst in the Caribbean Sooze also taught veterinary students in a number of areas. In 2012 she moved to Australia and started working at U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital in 2013. Sooze enjoys treating all animals but has a special interest in exotic animals and birds. At U-Vet, Sooze is also involved in teaching veterinary students in a number of capacities and also gives talks to different groups outside the university. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets including two dogs she brought from the Caribbean and two chickens she has raised since chicks. She also enjoys diving, hiking and stilt walking.
