Dr Thierry Beths

Associate Professor in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia

Dr Beths completed a residency program in Anaesthesiology at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, in 2000, before graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in 2008, researching Total Intravenous Anesthesia (TIVA) in the canine patient.

Dr Beths’ interests are TIVA, pain management and rehabilitation. In 2010, he obtained his Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) certification from the Chi Institute and China National Society of TCVM, Florida (USA). In 2011, he became a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) from the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. In 2020 he obtained a Master’s degree (Dist) in Clinical Pain Management through the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (UK). Dr Bethis is currently studying for h=getting certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee (USA).

Dr Beths is an active member of the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee  (AWAC) for Agriculture Victoria and an active member of the Animal Ethics Committees for the University of Melbourne and Agriculture Victoria.
