The University of Melbourne has invested in a $63 million redevelopment which will enhance facilities for pet treatment and training for future veterinarians at the U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital and Werribee campus. These upgrades will allow U-Vet to deliver world-class treatment for pets and the best possible experience for owners, and the University to improve its world-class veterinary education. The projected completion date is the end of 2018.
U-Vet is a 24-hour hospital, and will continue to provide the same high-quality medical care for animals for the entire construction period. Any changes will be clearly signed and alternative parking and access will be provided. Thank you for your patience during this period of change.
The project, and particularly the reception area, has been designed in consultation with veterinarians with expertise in animal behaviour to minimise any possible stress for pets.
The plans include redeveloping the existing facilities for U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital to enhance experience for pets and the resources for clients, as well as a new five-storey learning and teaching building for veterinary preclinical and clinical skills training. The redevelopment will include a new hospital entry, a café, landscaped gardens, increased parking for clients and visitors, and improved accessibility to link all areas of the campus.
